Powder Coating

– is a solid dispersion composition that includes special film-forming resins, hardeners, pigments and special additives. There are two large powder coating groups depending on the film-forming type: thermoplastic and thermosetting.

In the first group of powder coatings

based on thermoplastic film makers, the coating is formed without chemical transformation to the melting and cooling of particles. The films that are formed from them are thermoplastic and often soluble. The composition of such colors corresponds to the composition of the raw materials. This group includes powder coating based on polyvinyl butyral, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, polyamides.

Powder coating based on polyvinyl

butyral is used as a protective – decorative, electro-insulating, gasoline-resistant and abrasive resistant for indoor object painting. Such coatings withstand the effects of water and salts at room temperature.

Polyvinylchloride paints

form the surface-resistant coating of detergents. These colors are used in objects as interior painting and exterior painting.

Very common polyamide powder compositions.

Coatings made of them have an attractive appearance, high hardness and durability. They are resistant to wear and exposure to thinners. Polomide powder paint is used for both indoor and outdoor work.

The powder color on the polyeliphine base (polyethylene, polypropylene)

is mainly used to protect the surface as it has good physico-mechanical, anticorrosive and electrical insulation properties. They paint products from wires, pipes, battery beams, brackets, glass container, washing machine and dishwasher parts, shelving, metal furniture. The major drawback of these coatings is the tendency to cracking. In addition, they do not have much weather resistance.

The second large powder coating group

– thermosetting to thermosetting and film forming. Coatings were formed by particle fusion and subsequent chemical reactions. They are not fragmented. This group includes powder paint based on epoxy and polyether resin, acrylic, polyurethane. The composition of this group is good for mechanical engineering products if the coating requires durability and high decorative properties.

The epoxy paint

is mechanically strong and has good solvent resistance, but remains yellow after overheating. Under the ultraviolet rays, the upper layer wears out and becomes dull.

The epoxy polyester powder

coating structure includes epoxy and polyether film forming agents that react to hardening by others. These colors have a lesser yellowness and are more resistant to higher temperatures.

Profile powder coating

is suitable for painting outside objects, because in the open air its upper layer is not destroyed and does not remain chilly.

Polyurethane paints

give the coating a smooth shine. They are used to protect products subjected to friction and wear. In addition, the surface also has a special decorative effect – the texture of the compressed silk. Polyurethane coatings have high weather resistance, water, liquid fuel, mineral oil, solvents.

Acrylic powder coatings

can be used for painting objects, exposed to external influences. Resistance to alkali and good thermal stability. Coating for a long time preserves gloss and color.
